Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born South London, England into a family of mixed blood. Her father is Nigerian Swiss while her mother was English. She was raised on a south London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age fourteen. She graduated with a BA in acting from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. As a student at the academy, she appeared in numerous stage productions including the King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began acting with Storm Damage. She's appeared as guest on Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe made her debut motion picture role in the Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. Following that she portrayed Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally, she starred in Trexx as Ollie and in six episodes of Flipside. The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in the year 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was a star in 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams and Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009 with the dramatic The Beautiful Life. The series aired only two episodes before it was removed from The CW. In February 2011, she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe's exit from the series was confirmed in May 2013. After two years as a main character, she made a guest performance in the opening episode of season three. Between 2014 and 2016, Madekwe was a star in the role of Tituba on the show Salem. In June 2012, she married her long-time boyfriend, actor Iddo Goldberg. They collaborated in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Goldberg also appeared with Madekwe in Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress was raised in a huge family from Hamilton, Ontario. Her parents, Roy and Patty and the four brothers of her, Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley's sports brothers played baseball during summers and hockey during winters. Ashley never actually walked -she did dance, so at age just two years old, she took up Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. Ashley began to be a dancer following this. Ashley was a top competitor in divisions for jazz, tap hip hop, ballet lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe, until she finished in high school. She also won best soloist awards at all major dance contests, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
